My Journey to Software Development
My path to becoming a full-stack developer has been a unique blend of creativity, curiosity, and perseverance. My first exposure to coding came during high school, where I took a coding class that sparked my interest. However, at that time, I didn’t have the confidence or resources to pursue it further.
After high school, I ventured into the hospitality industry, working my way up to an Assistant General Manager at a restaurant chain. This role honed my leadership and organizational skills, teaching me the importance of teamwork and effective communication.
Following my passion for storytelling, I transitioned to a career as a full-time videographer and video editor. This experience allowed me to exercise my creative muscle and develop a keen eye for detail, skills that are invaluable in software development.
Throughout this journey, my curiosity about coding never waned. I began self-teaching, exploring programming languages and concepts on my own. It was during this time that I discovered an online coding bootcamp. Realizing this was the opportunity I had been searching for, I committed myself to this new path and immersed myself in learning.
Having recently graduated from the bootcamp, I am now a full-stack developer, equipped with a robust skill set and a fresh perspective. My diverse background in management, creativity, and self-directed learning has instilled in me a strong work ethic, problem-solving abilities, and an innovative mindset. I am excited to leverage these experiences in my next role, where I can contribute to building impactful software solutions.
